Alex Král Scout Report
Alex Král, at only 25 years of age, is quite a mixed bag if we look closely at his scout report for the 2023-2024 Bundesliga season with Union Berlin. Predominantly a central midfielder, he can double up as a defensive midfielder, but interestingly, he offers more threat in goal scoring relative to his position peers with his goalt threat ranking in the top 60%. Combining this with his active involvement in the attacking third, this suggests that he seeks out opportunities to score whenever he can.
However, these attacking quirks come somewhat at an expense. While Král's notable contributions lie in his progressive carrying and recoveries, his overall ball retention and ball recovery abilities significantly dwindle in comparison, lying slightly on the lower end of the scale. Similarly, he appears to struggle in the creative department, with his ability to create chances and provide assists ranking below par.
Defensively, Král shows a decent record in winning aerial duels and recoveries, but his overall duel success rate and number of interceptions leave room for improvement. He rarely commits fouls, which helps him avoid yellow cards and, consequently, suspensions.
All in all, Král's style of play seems more inclined towards direct attack, keeping the possession low but the threat high. However, to evolve into a more well-rounded midfielder, improving his ball handling and creative capabilities would be necessary.
